Attitude of Gratitude

As I was sorting, organizing, and putting things away in my house I was reminded of how blessed my family has been over the years.  First and for most we've been blessed with the basic necessities of day to day living.... a roof over our heads, cars in the driveway, Food, clothing, and health care. We've also had the opportunity to go on a few vacations and day trips.  We live in a beautiful, friendly, and safe neighborhood where our children have grown up playing outside. Most importantly we have Friends and family who love us.  We've had our fair share of hard times but the good has definitely out weighed the bad. So if you have a chance today take a moment to reflect on the blessings in your life and embrace an attitude of gratitude.

Yesterday I started my spring cleaning week.
My first goal was to make sure I had all my daily chores completed and then I moved on to getting caught up on "some" laundry.  Despite a few distractions and some help from my puppy Annabelle I finished the laundry around 8 pm. Yup, 8 hours of laundry! No sheet, blanket, pillow, throw rug, curtain, or item of dirty clothes was left undone...PHEW!  Today I am going through the house and gathering up all the items that have been left out.  I sort them into piles according to the room they belong and return them to their rightful places. Let the cleaning begin!

Spring Cleaning

Okay so I've decided that this week begins the dreaded task of SPRING CLEANING. I love it and hate it all at the same time. I hate it because it takes sooo much time and energy. I love because when I'm done everything around me is organized and there is a fresh, peaceful, and harmonious feeling in my home.   Not to mention I feel like I've just accomplished the impossible.  So this is what happens... One Spring morning, today, I wake up with the sun streaming through my cloudy windows illuminating the shmutz on the walls and wonder how in the world did my house get like this. lol Then I remember I have three teenage daughters, a husband, a hamster, and 2 dogs living here.  Hmmmmm  Let the cleaning begin!

Good Bye Winter Hello Spring

When I walked out the door this morning I was greeted  by blue skies, sunshine, and a warm breeze. Good bye Winter hello Spring!  It was hard to focus during church. I was running through the list of things I had to get done before I could relax and enjoy the day.  Laundry, dishes, vacuum, make beds, ect....Well, when I got home the pull to be outside was too strong.  So I grabbed a cup of coffee, went out into the back yard, and sat down. I closed my eyes, tipped my head up toward the sun and just breathed in the fresh spring air.  I could feel my thoughts letting go and my body absorbing the energy of Spring.  I hope you can find a few minutes today to relax, let go of your thoughts, embrace the beautiful spring weather, and energize your spirit.

Whispers Of Spring

As winter subsides whispers of spring can be heard and felt all around us. Trees begin to bud, snow drops, daffodils, and crocus' are blooming, birds are chirping, peepers are peeping, days are warm, nights are cool, and sap begins to flow.

Spring is also a time for action.  We clean our homes, prepare our gardens for planting, and begin planning summer vacation.
Spring is hopeful and full of promise
I hope you can get outside, take a few deep breaths, and feed your soul with whispers of spring.
                    Best Wishes,
